Introduction
The Comito Laboratory studies new methods for organic and polymer synthesis using organometallic catalysis, free radicals, and photochemistry. We are interested in the coordination chemistry and reactivity of earth-abundant main group and first-row transition metals. We study bimetallic catalysts as platforms for new selectivity and for record reactivity. We also use nitrogen- and phosphorus reactive intermediates for new synthetic organic transformations (see Research). Projects will be available for students interested in organic, polymer, or inorganic chemistry. Interested candidates at the undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral level should contact Robert Comito by email. High school students are only considered as part of established programs like ACS Project SEED or the Welch Summer Scholars.
